I could get drunk on the greens of Maine....the shades and tones and textures are amazing! If Ireland is the emerald isle; surely Maine is the emerald state. It is just beautiful.

Hi Elston,
You're in Gorham, right? Take Payne Road or 114 to Route #1 Scarborough, then take Route #9 off #1 towards Pine Point. When you get to the marsh, look on your left for the Nature Center. Here's a link:
Maine Audubon: working to conserve Maine's wildlife and wildlife habitat by engaging people in education, conservation, and action.
Just past the Nature Center on the left you can park and walk the trails.
You might also want to know about the Eastern Trail Alliance that's building the trails: The Eastern Trail: From Kittery to Casco Bay
In a separate mail I'll try to upload photos again. Fingers crossed this time.
....nope. Still not letting me do it. Ah well. Maybe another day!

Scarborough Marsh and Nature trail (finally) :-)
Here's what it looked like on Saturday - beautiful sunny day!
Oh --- and a photo of Clambake just for fun.
P.S. what you can't see in these photos is the abundant birdlife - beautiful white ("Snowy") Egrets, Willets, and one I never saw - or maybe never noticed - before, the "Glossy Ibis".
Note of caution: stay on the trail if you go into the woodsy areas. Poison ivy is starting to rear its ugly head....

Thanks for posting the elm pic Robin! Is that a volunteer tree or did you plant one of the new virus resistant strain?
