I live in Dallas but had the opportunity to drive through Maine while in Boston for work. Absolutly beautiful state. I only made it to Portland before night fall, but from the small amount I saw I absolutly loved it. I want to go back one day.

My wife is now interested in visiting as well, it's amazing how little you hear about Maine throughout the country. Guess it's a best kept secret!
