The first is spruce. The second appear to be pine but I can't see the needles clearly. White pine have long needles. Red pine has medium length needles. Spruce, balsam and tamarack have short needles.

Uhuh! Get your hiney in that house!! Now, how do you get that close shot? I can't get anywhere near that close with my lens. I need a new camera!!

48x zoom between digital and optical zooms is helpful. I have a Canon S3 IS. The setting is shutter speed priority. If I'd taken time to set up the tripod rather than lean against the truck for stability it would have been sharper. My camera has forced focus so I can force it to focus, look at the shot on the screen and decide whether to take the pic or refocus. Forced focus isn't always clear. I tried this one through the branches of the apple tree but didn't get it. I can't figure out how to focus on the moon instead of the tree.
