Love the Katahdin and Baxter State park pictures RMoore, that's our favorite place to ride our snowmobiles...looks a lot different without the snow!! I never realized it's a paved road where the rock is, I always thought it was a dirt road!!

7th G, great birds!! Tell us of your camera setup (unless you've done that a dozen times already )
Also good to see I won't have to sell my motorcycle--if I ever get called for that job I've been waiting on

Thanks. I shoot a Nikon D-80 and the bird pictures use a straight 500 lens @ 1000 ISO, 1/400.

Lovely photos.
For some reason, I'm feeling rather nostalgic about Maine right now. My heart is in Damariscotta -- but this might be the first summer that I don't make a trip out there.

The stinky, smelly, harbinger of spring in our woods, the Red Trillium. (That smudge is caused by something on the lens...I cleaned it)

I was out doing some work in Western Maine last Thursday/Friday and was able to snap a few photos. Definitely not as good as 7th Gen's, but still some nice area's. The pictures from Sugarloaf didn't come out so well due to the rain/fog we had on Thursday, but it's crazy to see that they still have some snow left on the trails up there.
