We shopped around and then I got my gun at The Old Town Trading Post They have a wide variety, do take trades etc.

I believe they had hand guns as well...

There is also a gunsmith right close to where Forest Beekeeper lives who also had some used, some new etc. but he's a small shop so had less to choose from.

Old Town Trading Post is great.

Van Raymonds is food.

The Military Surplus is good.

I like having a gunsmith here close by too. Richard Haymon Gunsmithing [394-3232]

I have done business at all four of these, they are do good.

It is hard to guess which one will have the best deal.

when i was looking for a 30.06, I looked everywhere, but the best deal, was just up the road from you, at indian hill trading post, in greenville

I also bought my son's first shotgun at the same place, they had the best price

When our youngest son was first getting into rifles I shopped around and found the lowest price for a Ruger 10/22 at Walmart.

Then later we went shopping for some 7.62x54mmR carbines and the Military surplus place had the best prices! However when we decided to stock up on ammo, we found that our local gunsmith had the best prices.

Lately I have been looking at side-by-side coach guns, and I am not sure yet who has the best prices.

The last rifle I had was a Ruger 7mm mag w/ 3-9 scope. I liked it and shot a lot of deer with it until someone decided they wanted it and stole it. Broke in and stole all my guns and even my daughters paper delivery money while we were on vacation..... The pistol I am selling is a Smithfield .45 ACP. It has never been fired and is less than a year old.

There's also Kittery Trading Post, if you're heading down that way. Their used-gun selection was awesome the last time I was in there, and they deal in pistols, new and used, too.

Not that I'd know personally, of course.

I was at Kittery Trading Post in May and found their used gun prices to be quite high.

Yeah, I stopped in there once, just because I happened to be passing by, and almost choked when I saw their used prices.

I got a good deal at Dick's last year, package deal- rifle and scope. The scope that was included was much better than the one that it had been advertised with.

I always try to support my local gun shop, but for new firearms they can't beat internet prices like Buds. The local guy gladly does the transfer for $25 and knows I will buy ammo, accessories and used guns from him.

I have also bought a few guns from Bud's. First class all the way. Your local gun shop still gets some money from you as well. Typically $35 for the FFL transfer so I don't feel so bad about buying online. I bought a new Remmingtion 500 $235 cheaper than I could buy one around here. After paying the FFL charge and waiting a week I was still ahead of the game $200.

I wouldn't trade the gun in because they won't give you crap for it. I also don't sell guns though. One sold is one you wont get back. Run an ad in Uncle henerys, also it's a good place to shop for one. If you don't know what to ask have a gun shop tell you what they will give you for it then look @ Gunbroker.com to see what they are going for private sale price.

Just my 2 cents, your millage may differ.
