Default considering vacation home

I live in new jersey and am considering selling a vacation home in the poconos in pa. and looking in the eastpoprt, lubec, machias area. houses are very reasonable. Is it a good idea? are people there welcoming to seasonal residents; and for a fee is it easy to find good people to look in on an empty house. I am a clergyman and would only be able to get there a few times a year; but am also considering it as a place to retire.

Sure, there are people there who maintain homes for seasonal residents. One thing you might try is to be a "summer guest" preacher in a church in the area. It'd make it easy for you to break the ice, so to speak.

Thumbs up You will LOVE Machias

Machias will enchant your sole and awaken the dreamer in you. I love it there and I am currently building my dream Log Home off of Gardners Lake. Do as I did just a few short years ago pay a visit and you will find it becomes you.. Q

In my area, I think we have about the same number of permanent residents as we do 'camps' for folks that only come to visit.

It is a nice feature, of living somewhere that the cost-of-living is cheap enough that folks can do that.

I just like living here.
