Anyone know of any attorneys or firms in the Maine area that hire summer help? Would love to go up there for next summer.

Thanks!

In what capacity? A summer associate program? If so, there are some larger (by Maine standards, lol) firms that have a program like that.

I applied to the larger firms that have SA programs like Bernstein, Pierce, etc. But I'd be more than happy with something that paid enough to allow me to rent a place and pay for the essentials. I'd be from out of state, and I'd prefer to work in New England after graduation, so I'm looking more for that "foot in the door" and not concerned with banking money.

Title companies are generally busier in the summer if you know something of title work.

Do you have any contacts in this state? Maine has one law school, and the place (at least the grater Portland area) is so saturated with lawyers it's crazy. You'd be up against a ton of competition in this market, competition from Maine. Not to be too pessimistic -- you never know. What kind of law are you interested in?

No real contacts, most of my family is from Rhode Island. I know there's a lot of competition, so that's why I thought I would ask on here. Never know where something might come up.

You may want to look into companies like Pitney Bowes and williams lea that hire office services professionals. You can start now in a city near you and transfer up in summer if they service any firms in Maine.

I'm not really sure what an "office service professional" is. Is it a lawyer of some kind?
