A friend of mine works seasonally in Bar Harbor. He found that his hispanic co-workers that pay income tax while working there get it all back when they return home......ain't that just great.....

Nope, you read it right. Many illegals actually pay taxes. Not sure how this is done without a social security number, or some identifying number. But I have seen a few articles and news spots on the subject. Kinda boggles the mind!

They pay alot of things , and yet they don't get anything like Section 8 or Food stamps.....although they can't anyway. But its amazing that they seem to do things that Americans can't , and that's living on a small budget.

Well it is obvious that if they are paying taxes then they are documented and are not illegal. BTW I live in Mass and work in CT,I pay taxes to both states and get everything back from CT. Is that an issue for you also.

Not only that, when they file to get their refund they are qualified to earn the low income benefit (read: welfare). It's a great country, unless you PAY taxes.

I'm no expert but I think the difference between 'illegal' and 'undocumented' is really semantics, or all about the spin one wants to put on it. It seems to be a subject that has been up for some debate for a while (not that I want to debate it, lol!)

My best friend is Hispanic and gets 90% of the federal taxes he pays in back at the end of the year. Oh yeah, he was born and raised in the US and while in the Army he traveled through Europe, but has never set foot in Mexico. Sounds like you and your friend have a bit of racism in you.
Maybe ask your friend how much of the taxes he pays in, does he get back at the end of the year. Working seasonally I am willing to bet it is all of it as well.
