I'm looking to add a property or two to archery hunt this fall and thought I might check with you folks to see is anyone might have some land available in these areas. I am particularly interested in the expended archery zones. If you don't know if that’s you I would be happy to let you know. You need not have a lot of land. One of my best spots in Camden is less than 1 acer.

I am SAFE! I always respect landowner rules and special requests and the law book. I never leave any "waste" behind or trash all the wile being discreet and respectful of your neighbors. I have 20 years experience in the woods and the utmost respect for the animals harvested and the land owner.

I might also be willing to trade carpentry or handy-man work for the privilege of using your property for hunting activities. (12 years experience)

PM if you prefer

Islesboro has long been an archery-only hunting area, with very liberal hunting regs, because it has a serious deer overpopulation problem. At one point it allowed unlimited doe tags. Now deer ticks and Lyme disease have become huge issues on the island, and the islanders are about to vote on allowing firearms hunting to thin the herd even more. Contact the town office over there and I'd bet the town clerk would be more than willing to put you in contact with landowners who allow hunting.

They voted a few days ago (Islesboro). They will allow the hunting and attempt to thin the herd from 500 to 100.

There is zero liability to the land owner as long and you don't charge the person to use the land. Then it is a business deal.
Maine has a law in place that allows you to let people recreate on your land with out liability. Maine did this to help avoid people Posting there land for fear of being sued. I can provide a pamphlet from the Department of IF&W to back this up tp ease anyones mind.
I fall out of a stand, that’s my problem. If God forbid there was any other kid of situation which really is not possible with archery gear, it is solely on the shoulders of the hunter. At 40 yards or less there is Zero chance of any sort of miss identification.
I’m trying to get in on the Isleboro hunting but the problem is the Islanders don’t want guys from the main land shooting "there" deer. Lots of stolen stands and slashed tire horror stories.now they have Too many deer. Go figure right? I do however have a lead on some land this year and I hope it works out. Expanded season runs from September 15 to December 15ish.
I am willing to be very flexible. Only hunt certain days or months. Even just afternoons etc...home owner wants half the meat no problem. Most of the time folks are just happy to take some pressure off their expensive shrubs and plants.
