I own a portland foundry 224... its a great stove but you must watch it carefully or you will have a runaway flue with a temp of like 700 F !!! it runs great, just have to make sure the gasket around the door is fitted good every year to make it air tight and make sure the seams in the stove are tight also. It runs a 5" flue pipe which i have going into a 6" with a damper on the 6" before it turns and goes out the wall. thru the wall is a metal box about a foot square, i have not insulated in the 6" wall in that 12" square so there is no insulation near the pipe! Outside it hooks into my metalbestos double walled stainless flue. I run about a cord a year in it but do clean the chimney flue all the way out from the damper about 3 times a year and use rutland creosolt cleaner. It heats my funky house fine, its 1/2 rehabed mobile home and a 2 story 24x24 addition (1400 sq feet) no problem all the way down to 20F! Forgot to add that this sits on and has a ceramic tiled hearth around it with air breathers, this warms and stays WARM ONLY for hours. Sort of turns it into a german "kochelofen". all i then do is when it warms up i turn on the ceiling fan in the room and a small table fan to blow around the heath to move the hot air, this works like a charm! I let it burn out around 8PM and its still warm in there till 12-1 AM!!!
