It doesn't look good....this isn't the cleveland indians....TB won't go 3 games in a row to let us win...though I'll still keep my fingers crossed. But...isn't it nice to be a boston "new england" fan.....every year we got a shot!

I thought there was something wrong with my TV at first... Is this the Red Sox?

Oh well. At least they're playing in October where anything can happen. We've seen it.

I think the biggest problem is that the team the Sox have taken into the playoffs this year just is not as good as last year's team. If they had everyone healthy, I'm not sure they would be quite as good as last year's team. Maybe. And under any circumstances, they might be a little better than anyone else this year . . . if all their players were healthy. But Lowell is out, Drew is hurting and problematic, and Ortiz and Beckett are hurting and clearly not playing close to the way they do when healthy. That's a lot to overcome, and it diminishes the quality of the team substantially. That's the frustrating part. If everyone were healthy and they lost, well, they lost, but this situation leaves you wondering what might have been.

Wow, went to bed with the Sox down 7-0 and thinking the season was over.

Woke up this morning and found that the season continues! Amazing Thank goodness for ESPN so we could see the highlights.

Aaargh! Those Sox. Back up to their old tricks. Getting our hopes up, when they will inevitably dash those hopes on the rocks within the next couple of days. Prolonging the agony.

Well, okay, actually I'm glad they didn't just go ahead and end it. It would have been awful for them to get swept at home, especially losing those games as badly as they did. And last night's game was a good one, worth watching no matter what happens from here on.

My dad watched every game. His grandmother watched every game and kept a box score of each. She was a fan during the Sox's early World Series years. When they were king of the world in sports. She never saw them win a World Series again or my parents. Fans 'till the end though. Whenever that end was. Always with hope that they would win the last game played. But they were still fans even after the day they lost and were out of the race. I'm kind of like that. A dreamer probably. I guess I'm in good company so I can't complain.

But I about died out here watching that game all alone and raising my arms and talking to myself kind of stuff. Sheeesh! Stop it Sox. You'd better keep it closer in the sixth game and not count on too many more miricles or reversed bad karma to come your way. Take care of business early and keep a lead. That's my advice.
