Love this time of year also. Finally we will be in the lower 90's upper 80's for a while with kinda low humidity in the 60's.

Kinda wish I could just once be in a place that has four seasons. Here we have summer and winter and not much in between. Fall and spring just means no humidity but the temps can still get high.

I love fall - it's what comes after that I'm not particularly thrilled with (since I've dealt with shoveling it since I could stand on two feet).

The next couple months are wonderful times to go for drives in the country; to watch as colors change.

Of course I love it...it's a relief from the heat of summer, which I detest. I'm just not made for the heat! I suffer a great deal from hot, humid weather. It just wears me down.

Fall is a time of church suppers, fresh apple cider from real wooden presses (we can watch it become cider near here), pumpkins on everybody's doorsteps, farmer's markets, Halloween for the kids, and (I almost forgot) fall foliage!

Hasn't been terribly bright the past couple of years hereabouts, but this year promises to make up for it, with all the rain we've had. The best way to photograph the leaves, IMHO, is get almost under a couple of very colorful trees, and orient yourself so that the leaves have a deep blue-sky backdrop. Really makes the colors POP!

After 85 days of temperatures in triple digits, we are flying out of Austin Texas to spend a week in Maine (around the Portland area). How far north will we need to drive to get the best foliage viewing? Or will a trip to Boothbay Harbor provide a good example? By the way, only 96 today - a cold front moved in.

I love fall overall!!!
The change of leaves look nice til they fall on the ground and ya got to rake them...

hunting season is coming!! I saw a nice deer in the rangeley area today- if i had my older car, i would have aimed for it
I start to get uncomfortable if the temperature climbs higher than the low 70s.

Hunting season, yes--but how's the fall saltwater fishing up there?

The lobstermen aren't complaining, so it must be great.

This fall is special. It's the very first time our store has had l winter squashes, and apples from MAINE in them. I trust it will be the first of many falls that we can sell local produce.

I listened to two bull moose fighting in the distance late this afternoon. Just as I was ready to get down from my stand a noise got my attention. "Wugh!" Two moose battled only 200' from my stand. I wish it had been lighter so that I could see them through the trees. Third week in September = moose start to rut.
