Just want to wish everyone on this forum a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!

We sometimes whine and moan about so many of the problems and challenges in our lives, and those of our loved ones'. Sometimes we overlook just how blessed we are, and how fortunate.

As you enjoy your turkey (or other) dinner, try to remember how difficult life could be if not for all the advantages we have here in the USA. And dig into all that delicious turkey! Gobble gobble!

I'm joining a friend who has invited everyone she can think of that has no place to go. I was told I might need to speak French or Spanish. Got out my Berlitz book; don't think it will help: "Vo ist da la salle de bant?"

Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes and the same to all on this board. We are heading to the Senator in Augusta to meet daughter and her family coming from NH for dinner there.

I took a few homemade goodies down to the homeless shelter along with a lb. of coffee. The seemed very appreciative to get it. I need to do that more often not just on a holiday.

I couldn't agree with you more. Thanksgiving--a uniquely American holiday...way to go, President Lincoln. It's easy to fall into a mindset of complaining even about rather small, insignificant things. We all need to focus on all the good (even great) and positive things in our lives. An attitude of gratitude can change lives for the better. If you can't think of anything to be thankful for, be thankful to be living in this exceptional country--the United States of America and The Great State of Maine (past, present or future). Here are some Thanksgiving web sites to check out. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
