Saw a prime example of stupid drivers today on route 4. Guy in pickup truck comes out of Greenwood's Produce stand. Two lane road with a center turning lane. Does he stop? Heck no!! He whips it right out in front of us and we had to slam on our brakes to avoid his stupid manuver. One can make all the improvements but it's not going to slow the idiots down. I'd almost rather travel the Mass pike than route 4 at times!

Hi - I have been reading these threads and the roads subject is the only negative conversation that I have come across. I am in Maryland - and strongly considering relocating to Maine ( I am originally a northerner )
How are roads/drivers in the Bangor and surrounding area?
Thanks, Quel

The roads are generally maintained in good shape, potholes are filled quickly. And snow is removed within the hour.
I have no complaints about the roads.
There are folks who think that specific intersections should be widened / etc, but I realise that widening involves a lot of legal hassle and money.
The roads are fine.

Did you ever notice that those in such a big rush always end up getting there (where ever) the same time as those of us moving at a safe speed?
