Look at these pics. I think it's noticeably better. Maybe with one more sprinkling of powder?
Did anyone have any ideas of how to get the algae off the porch area?

I think those are lichens. Use the bleach solution, that will kill it. Works for moss as well.
Some recommendations are to mix 3 parts water with one part bleach, however the guy in the link below recommends not to use chlorine bleach, for several reasons:

Great area baja08. The fishing is great in the Narraguagus and Union Rivers. Lots of snowmobile trails make the hunting easy also.
