Ok, guys. How the heck do you fit 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths in a 1000 sq ft house????? I KNOW my big bed wouldn't fit in there!
SMALL "old fashioned" rooms?? That is one reason I am trading the queen bed in on a twin. That, and there is just me and I don't need the extra length. I prefer a small house... I have lived in 20x24 (and smaller, actually!) and for me, that worked ok... but after I added on two rooms upstairs (an additional 240 sq ft) it was perfect.
But then I know I am wierd <g>
Old houses were designed for a double at best... and the other bedrooms for a twin or maybe bunks, most likely.

The largest bedroom is probably, what, 10 x 11? And no, and king sized bed will not fit in a room that size. You probably need to go at least 1400 sq feet to get a big enough bedroom, unless you want to cozy up in a queen size once you move.
1 cup walnuts (about 4 ounces)
1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup orange juice
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees . Grease a 9 x 5 3 - inch loaf pan. Place nuts on a baking sheet and toast in oven until very lightly browned and fragrant, about 5 minutes. Leave oven on. Coarsely chop nuts and set aside.
In a large bowl, using a hand held mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg. Beat 1 minute. Gradually beat in juice. Add flour, baking powder, orange zest, and salt. Mix until just blended. Stir in cranberries and toasted walnuts. Spread batter into pan.
Bake until top of loaf is golden and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 45 to 50 minutes. Let stand in pan for 10 minutes, then place onto a wire rack and let cool completely.

Yes, our current home is 1521 feet and our master is 13X14, which is very small in these parts. The tiny BR in the house is 9X12 and it's like a closet to us! We're going to have to adjust our expectations a bit on housing options, I guess.
Of course, in that cold weather up there, we may be MORE than happy to snuggle up in a queen bed....maybe even a double!! Depends on how much weight we lose before we move.
You have to realize that when we got married, I was 320 lbs (yes, I'm serious!) and he was 250. A queen bed was totally out of the question! We're MUCH smaller now but still enjoy the room to move out of each other's way when the heat and humidity are high (and I don't mean OUR heat!)

Thanks. I think I'm ready. It's just a column. After being severely burned in this business less than a year ago I'm not ready to get into anything big yet. I'll be working on the big stuff again next month.
Molly, how was the play?
