Me too! I can't wait to check out the handy dandy new towel rack. Looks like enough room for all of us!

'new-age'? not so much, we are both [both households] are Christian.

'Commune'? not so much just friendly neighbors, helping each other with chores, crops, slaughtering livestock, shopping trips, etc.

We alternate hosting dinners each weekend, and we play cards together.

I am aware of some communes in the area however.

Forest, Buddy,... I tease you I know. I am also a Christian. But you're an awful lot of fun to kid with and I do enjoy reading your posts. You have made a lot of great info available here for us all and kept a sense of humour along with it. "Commune" or "Compound"? Doesn't matter but you do have a lot of good advice for anyone seeking to live simpler lives here. Thanks "Deah".

So I take it the answer is "no"? Can you give us directions to a nearby commune so that we might be able to come and visit?

We did move here looking to live a 'simpler' lifestyle.

After a Naval career [mostly serving underwater but broken-up with tours of law enforcement] and then we went through a horrible nightmare with a group of foster-children. The state case-workers really sent us through a wringer. We would so like to live with a bit less stress and try to enjoy ourselves.

I think that we have found such a place here in Maine.

Even though we do not get but two channels of TV, we are very blessed to have DSL.

I look forward to any opportunity that any of you have to come and visit

Right now I must go out and shovel some manure. I go do one chore, then I check my WWW forums, then one more chore, back and forth and on it goes.

May God bless you and keep you.
