What I am missing about Maine...
Since I've moved down South, I find myself missing certain things about living in Maine:
1. The cool brisk air that comes around in the Fall.
2. School getting canceled because of a big snowstorm.
3. The little hotdog/lobster roll stands scattered about.
4. Being able to own a house on your own land and not have it be in "cookie cutter" zone.
5. Walking through and shopping at the quaint little towns and areas like the Old Port or Camden.
6. When nothing else is going on being able to always be at LL Bean even at 1AM.
7.The smell of the ocean being only a quick drive away.
8. The casual, relaxed friendly people everywhere!
9. The feeling of living in a safe environment...little crime and people around always willing to help you out.
Anyway...reading your posts got me a little homesick...so thought I'd share. What things do you or would you miss?

I would miss the smell....of the ocean, of the pines, and of FALL--my favorite time of year!
I would miss the people....going to the store and seeing the smiles and getting the nods and hearing the hellos!
I would miss being able to leave my doors, windows and cars unlocked--I have an issue with finding keys, and would probably not use the jeeps nearly as much if I couldn't leave the key in it

We have kayaks tied up in the water, just behind our house.
I would miss that.

that sounds like the way things are in "down east" NC. I have no sense of smell, but I am with you on the rest... especially the key thing. I have multiple copies of all of mine.. everywhere... LOL so I can find them. but most likely place to find the key my the pickup is in the ash tray (though I do try to remember to bring it in when I get back home for the night). and I only lock the studio when I am not there.... but with the dog there I probably wouldn't HAVE to...
