Screen Name
Simply an affinity for northern places, northern culture.
I was born & raised in New England [ Rhode Island specifically, where I have roots stretching back to Roger Williams, 2 of the original Mayflower pilgrims, etc.], but RI has gotten pretty crowded since those early colonial days.
I decided some time ago that a move was in order.
But where?
I came to the same conclusion my grandparents did more than 30 years ago, that I wanted to stay with New England, but go someplace where more of the old New England atmosphere remained intact.
They took up island life, lobstering & boatbuilding; some of my finest childhood memories are of summertime visits with them on Swans Island.
I myself moved north to Maine last year, and it is here that I intend to stay.
