Johnny's Selected Seeds out of Albion, Vessy's and Burpees. All claim to be GMO free and quite a few organics. I order the catalogs on-line. Johnny's sends me catalogs throught the mail and email quite often. Not all that thrilled with Johnny's which is why I got the other two. Just don't order if you're hungry. I seem to have overestimated the size of my garden the time I did that. Works the same way as grocery shopping. Enjoy yourself.

Thanks!!
Ive got to do better with seeds this year- last year I saw a 10 for 1.00 (packets of seeds special at renys)
so I bought 50 packets of seeds-
I figured at this price, most wouldnt grow-so I mixed them altogether and planted- just to see what may grow-well, to my astonishment- it looked like they all grew-
this was my experiment year (last year)
I want to be a bit more organized this year

I get most of our stuff from FEDCO, though some from Johnnys.
Also on the 25th is the Seed Savers Swap meet, they have been going for many decades.

I bought a couple packs of Burpee's yesterday at our Job Lot store. They had all their seeds for 50% off.

I will throw in my hat for Johnny's and Fedco, as well. But Stokes is in upstate NY and caters to commercial as well as home growers, has excellent varieties, but you do need to watch out for the hybrids. Burpee is tremendous for us tomato lovers. I think Burpee has more varieties of tomatoes than almost anyone. YES some hybrids, but they aren't GMOs. I'll grow a nice hybrid tomato any day, as they can taste excellent and be easy to grow, as well.
You won't make a mistake with any of these, IMHO.

GMO seeds are not available to backyard farmers and homesteaders. They're also not available in many vegetables (yet). There is a sweet corn coming out. Tomatoes were tanked. If you are buying GMO seeds in Maine you have to take a class (online) and sign your life away on an extremely specific contract.
I'm a member of Fedco and buy 99% of my seeds there. They're a lot less expensive than anyone else I've purchased through, and I get a dividend check each year. They don't sell Monsanto seeds.
Johnny's is my backup for things I can't get from Fedco and for pelleted seeds. They're painfully expensive on seeds and shipping but their customer service is back to being excellent. Fedco-no shipping. Johnny's-$10.95 for six packets. They sell Monsanto seeds, a sticky point for some people.
I like Renee's Seeds. Full disclosure: I get a media package from them and don't buy many seeds there. I've always gotten fresh seeds that germinate quickly. Renee is great to work with and always answers my questions quickly.

I have been offered GMO sugar beet seed.
FEDCO offers free shipping for seed orders over $30.
