Medicare Supplement Plans in Maine
Anyone retired who can shed some light on Medicare supplement plans (Medigap or Advantage plans) in Maine—reputable ones, what they cover, premium costs, etc. Thanks in advance.

An aquaintence of mine signed up for the Martins Point plan which she seems to like with a premium of $49 per month. Martins Point is supposed to be one of the few 5 star plans in Maine. I myself and my husband signed on recently to Aetna plan with a very high deductible. We have rarely been ill throught the years and have no on going medications so this seem the way to go for us.. The supplemental coverage would not kick in until we have paid out of pocket (things not covered by Medicare) $3400.00 which would not bankrupt us and seemed fair for no monthly premium.

As a retired insurance agent and on Medicare, I chose AARP, it's benefits are right in line to pay what Medicare doesn't pay and they are world wide, so you're never out of area when on vacation. The cost is about 120. per month for me.

Newdaawn, you are paying $49 per month each, with a deductible of $3400?
That seems reasonable, can you tell me the name of the Aetna plan? Thanks.

I am sorry that I have no advice to give you. We use Martins Point. They network with nearly all doctors and medical facilities in Maine.
