Pond, lake.....I will take either for a vacation as long as it's not on a farm pond. Although I've seen some beautiful farm ponds through out our state.

A bay is a leaf you put into a stew.

Pond is something you drop off at the used goods shop and maybe you'll come back for it.

Lake is a small hole in your boot and you'll have a wet foot when it dribbles down there.

I want to be in the one that has the lobsters in it. I've been missing them a lot lately.

Lobster Lake is about an hour northwest of Millinocket. Take a left off the Golden Road.

Beacon Hill down here in Boston is more of a mound rather than a hill.

I find it interesting to hear of hills that are only 5,000 feet being called 'mountains'.

according to somebody at the U of MN who states.... According to the Minnesota DNR, a pond is identified as a body of water, under 10 acres, and in some cases, under 2 + acres, where the shoreline does not have any "washed" areas, only a shoreline with emergent vegetation. A body of water with a shoreline which includes a "washed" shoreline and is larger than 10 acres, in some cases 2 + acres, is considered a lake.

So that's all pretty clear there then, personally I look for a sign or a map that says what it is that I'm looking at.

Somewhere in my Maine Real Estate textbooks there are definitions. Perhaps NMLM knows. I could look it up if anybody is interested.
