Balls, a collection of a basketball, soccer ball, One of those big fat plastic ball bats and a ball to go with it, play golf set, The six year old, a bike. The baby, one of those ride in cars with the extra long handle so you can push comfortably like a stroller. For either or both, a good wagon. Big trucks, the metal Tonka ones. Anything "Cars" from the movie including toothbrushes for their stockings? If you have room, one of those little tents they can play in, (really great for the six year old as a getaway place from little brother).

Books. The Veggie Tale dvds are wonderful for the 6 yr old. Baby Einsteins have wonderful dvds for babies. Grandson loves his.
We got grandson a little play tent and he hides from the dogs in it. He had it outside a couple of weeks ago, and brought it inside for the night. That evening he got in it and suddenly started screaming at the top of his lungs. We thought he was hurt. Hubby looked in and there was a praying mantis sitting on his knee. LOLOL

i wish my son was 6 again,,,i have pictures of him opening xmas gifts..,,but the gift he enjoyed most could not be wrapped or placed under a tree,,it was TIME...whether going sliding, snowmobiling,,or to the park,,,
i use to have a list,,,of what i thought he wanted,,and wanted him to have many gifts...
if i had to do it over again,,id concentrate on gifts,,not to keep himself "busy" but gifts i could play with him
most kids dont remember what they got for xmas last year,,but they will remember the time you spent with them,, i think at 6 or so i got him,,one of those blast off rockets,,,he loved it!!!

We laswys made sure there were a few new games and books even puzzles when ours was younger in addition to a couple of big gifts under the tree. I could get by on under $100 easy when ours was that young. Not so easy at 19 though.

The 14 year old is getting cross country skis. I'm not sure about the 23 year old. We usually do outdoorsy gifts.

How about a snow block maker for the 6 year old? They're great for forts!
