I think it's so funny that you guys know this! I've bought probably 3 scratch tickets in my life, and nothing else, and I've never been to a casino....lol, I should get out more!

I only buy powerball when it gets to be a couple hundred million.

I figure if lightning is going to strike, better on $200+million than a $1 scratch!!!

I'm the same way, once in a while I'll throw a dollar. I know too many people who have lost homes and business because they couldn't stop playing, always thinking the big score was right around the corner. One guy I knew lost his home, his business and his wife...then he killed himself.

Roulette- House edge ranges from 1.3514% (certain Las Vegas high stakes wheels using European wheel and Hamburg rule) to 2.63% (Atlantic City double zero wheels using European imprisonment rule) to 5.26% for most other US casinos using a single zero wheel.

The best bets for the average player is at the Craps table betting the Pass/Don't Pass line- House edge is only 1.41% (which you can further cut by taking odds on a Pass bet after the point is rolled, there is no House edge on this bet), House edge on Don't Pass bets is 1.364% (which you can cut by laying odds).

I do OK at the Craps tables. Maybe it has something to do with dear old dad teaching me to add with a pair of dice? (I still suck at math though, but not so badly as to make a habit of buying lottery tickets.)

We only buy when the jackpot is high, and then only a couple of tickets. Kind of like horse racing, why feed someone else's critter.
I've never been to casino, though think it would be fun to go a show at one. I could care less about the gambling aspect.

I have been to a couple casinos. Reno, Las Vegas, Lisbon.

Our place in Ct is between Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. I have never gambled in either of those two, but they both have nice restaurants.

I have never bought a lottery ticket.

I used to like playing blackjack, I could drag out $100 all weekend. They would keep bringing me free whiskeys and sandwiches, and the odds are fairly good playing blackjack as compared to most other games.

Default Vegas

As some of you know, I went last month for the first time. I hated it. Too much neon for me. We saw 3 shows while we were there and loved them all. The casinos left me feeling sad. Sad for those people that you could tell, shouldn't have been there but were addicted to it. Old ladies on oxygen tanks first thing in the morning when we went down to have breakfast. People that looked like they just bet the farm... and lost. Or they were playing with this weeks grocery money or the mortgage payment. I saw total despair. I saw dumpster divers for the first time in my life.
I'm not a gambler, I've got better things to do with my hard earned money than feed it to millionaires.

hehe,... when my DH mentions buying a ticket I say to him "just give me a dollar and I'll go flush it for ya and save ya a trip" (I tend to be a bit of a wise mouth)

Hollywood Slots.

You guys in Washington County may just get the Indian casino next year after election!
