Default Just another (weird) reason my fellow Mainers make me proud!

I know that not a lot of you are involved with the lobstering industry, but I just love this little video about the lobster boat races. Apparently someone is producing a full length documentary/movie about the lobsterboat race circuit here in Maine, and this is just the trailer, but it makes me laugh, and I thought I would share. Gotta love those crazy lobstermen! Nowhere else but Maine... (And if you have never been to the races, I am inviting you all to head down to the coast next summer and join the fun.)

(I can't wait to see this as a full production...)

YouTube - Relentless Quest, World's Fastest Lobsterboat Trailer

(I dare you not to smile at least once while watching...)

The races are a hoot! Fastest darn "work" boats I've ever seen.

Hey, didn't Tim Sample, when he was on CBS Sundays Mornings a decade ago, also have a feature about the Beals Island races??

If you really know your stuff, you can tell where those guys come from depending on their specific accent, too- Jonesport, Deer Isle, Matinicus, Vinalhaven, Boothbay- every place sounds just a little bit different. (Honestly... )
