I've been to it before and it's usually pretty good. I don't go to those things any more.

depends what you are looking for- I use to go to the different shows at the augusta civic center, but got totally turned off, by an admission fee, just to get in- im quirky like that
but if you are looking for a new boat- great place to go

They do have some very nice boats there and a lot of marine related vendors.

It was a great show. But if you compare it to something like the US Sailboat or the US Powerboat Show in Annapolis, MD, its comes out sadly. I liked it, but I would have loved to see more small sailboats to took at. The only one there was the Marshall Catboat. Also, the section on Boat gear was limited to a series of 300+ HP engines for giant speed boats or very large power or sail boats. Most of the venders sported items that were way way out of MY ability to pay.

The organizers of the event should make the Trip to Annapolis in October to get an idea about how these things can be organized.

But besides that though, I had a lot of fun. However, I was pretty much done in about two hours.

I think you would like the show in Portland that happens sometime in March. It is geared to all boat lovers. A lot of small boats on display there as well. It still will barely take 2 hours to go through it. Just not a big enough venue for all that many boat builders/suppliers to show up.

I've always made it a habit not to go to things that take me longer to get there than it takes to enjoy the event---unless I am on a long trip that includes it. So I would have to do other things too.
