I spoke to a local business person today who mentioned that things were getting crazy in the Lincoln / Springfield area. She didn't go into details with me on the phone and I stopped the local paper from being delivered down here to Jersey.

Can someone give me a heads up please?

Thanks in advance;
CS

This is a good question. I'd not heard anything nor can find anything re: this online. But anyone know for sure if this is true? We did consider from Orono & north to rent an apt at one time, & I never saw this stuff. Hmm, Orono & surrounding areas I always thought to be the best places as not far from Bangor or U of ME, thus faiirly decent communties.

If it is due to outlying, rural crime then it may be the spread of people from bigger towns into these towns. Ok, I'm totally guessing here, so any Mainer's know what is up here?

Theft of fuel, both gasoline and wood is increasing. Maybe it has to do with drugs. Four guys beat a man nearly to death with baseball bats in the Howland Enfield area over a drug debt.

The number one enemy in any area up here lately (IMHO) is drugs - the use of them, the abuse of them, and the sale of them. It's a lucrative market right now.

To be honest, I don't think there is any one area that is immune from this (either in the state or the country).
