Moxie is the Hybrid son of Shasta Cola and 10w40 motor oil in the form of a beverage

( It's a regional soda, it has an acquired taste)

Thx Mr. Mainbrokerman - is it alcoholic or non - alcoholic beverage?
I'll have to inquire further from the local Mainers when we get up there,
I am sure they'll be impressed that we've heard of Moxie.
Sounds like we better stick with some local fresh apple cider

BTW - regarding the term "broker" in our username, are you a R.E. Broker by profession?

I've ACTUALLY never seen it anywhere. Do they sell it at Hannaford or Shaw's?

Well if you haven't seen it, then no one sells it I guess. You must pay better attention. Aisle 9 Hannaford in Ellsworth regular and diet.

What a find, thank you so much Maingirl2011 for the meliving website- what a wealth helpful of links on there!
Loved the info about movies filmed in Maine so much so it inspired me to watch "Signs of Life" movie on netflix now, filmed in S. Bristol at the Gamage Shipyard.
Note to self - must at least try and taste the Moxie.

Yohynot - You're welcome. If you do make it as far as Bridgton, the Black Horse Tavern is a great place to eat, that is if it hasn't closed since I was in that area.

For those that are looking for Moxie, it has an orange label. Hubby is a big fan of it. The last time I checked, a few weeks ago, my Hannaford was no longer carrying it.

Sadly this is going to be another fall with less than spectacular colors. July was dry and the trees are stressed. My maples are brown on the edges and in a wind they are shedding.
Moxie was purchased by Coca Cola New England and they definitely changed the formula.
The drink was originally devised by a Civil War veteran in Union, Maine and was touted not to contain alcohol nor cocaine.
Some mornings my old bones wished it did.
