My sister in Dover just waits until one of our brothers decides to go to the dump and gets him to throw her stuff in the back of his pickup when he drives past her front doorstep. Dumping is free if you're smaht.

I do remember asking her a couple years ago about a neighbor that put his trash out on the main road and she said there were private companies that dispose of it for you for a fee.

$24 month. Private company. Although its nice to see what other people are paying, trash pickup is usually one of those things where only 1 company does it and you pay them whatever they want or you dont get your trash picked up.

We also have extensive recycling, but there are some things that can't be recycled, like carpet for instance.

Aside from the olden days, when anyone could just take trash to the dump with no fee, I like the $2 trash tag (Ellsworth) for a bag of trash weighing up to 50 lbs. Sounds like the best deal to me. For items that won't fit in a bag, put them out by the side of the road with a sign on them "Free" and someone will pick them up.

Our burn barrel gets some use, not much though. Most of our burnable stuff gets saved for winter.
