On my trip next week, i'd like to have lobster (of course) - casual, boiled is fine...

a lobster roll
casual seafood
Maine bottled beer to bring home - oh, and maybe some of that coffee brandy stuff??
Whoopie pies
fudge
some good bar food and draft beer

I will be staying in Boothbay, and then one night in Acadia National Park. I'll be there for 3 1/2 days.

Suggestions would be great - thanks!

(Places that i've eaten before - from memory - are Camden Deli, Cappy's, Lobster Pound (Lincolnville), Sea Basket, Geddy's, Thirsty Whale)

There is a small Maine winery in Stetson on Rt 222. We did not know they existed until we drove by yesterday. We stopped in and had a great conversation, a tour of their vineyard, a wine tasting, and we bought a few bottles.

The 'only' Maine vineyard and winery? [there are wineries in Maine that import grape juice from the West Coast]

IMO, if you like Italian the best restaurant in Bar Harbor at the moment is Guiness & Porchelli's. But you could also eat at the sidestreet Cafe for lunch on Rodick street. I sent you a PM.

When driving between Boothbay and Bar Harbor, there is King Eider's Pub in Damariscotta and Moody's Diner a little further up Rt. 1 in (I think) Waldoboro. You should be able to get beer from Gritty McDuff's, Shipyard, Geary's, Sea Dog, Belfast, Bar Harbor, and a lot more. Right now you can get Shipyard Pumpkinhead and Gritty's Halloween Ale.

If you don't want to go into BH, my favorite restaurant in Ellsworth's is Finn's. Its across from the post office on the main drag. They have great service, great beer choices, and nice sandwiches. Altho the portions are a bit bigger in the winter time. If you like Stout, don't fail to get a bottle of Cadillac Mountain Stout. Finn's has a new dark brew from Belfast, Ireland which is 14% alcohol. It will knock you on your butt on an empty stomach. That's about as alcoholic as drinking a whole glass of brandy before dinner.

We ate at Ripuninis (sp?) in downtown Bar Harbor last Wednesday. The had outdoor seating in addition to indoor. Food and service was good and prices fair.

Also if you are in Stockton Springs - Just Barb's is good.

Thanks for all the ideas.

Can you buy Maine bottled beer in regular grocery stores - or liquor stores/package goods stores? I want a couple 6/8-packs to go.

Submariner - Just thought I would mention there are several - Maine grown grapes - winerys in Maine. A favorite of mine is in Union - Sweetgrass. The also have a permit to distill and have a great "Cranberry Crush". Another one you can walk through their vineyard is just a couple miles west of Lincolnville Beach, "Cellardoor"
