BillAck - I'm just wondering what in the world could be sucking up your power that it costs $200 a month for electric. I guess many of us don't live in huge houses. We have lived here over 4 decades and have NEVER paid over $40 for electricity from Bangor Hydro. Most of those years it has averaged around $25. We don't have central A/C and heat with oil - steam radiators.

I'd pick NC. Both are beautiful states, but NC has the advantage of being that much further away from Washington DC!
