Rumford Maine has very affordable housing- you can buy a beautiful historic fix-me-up for peanuts. This area is trying to promote the arts- the first big step is to draw more artists to the area. Rumford is conveniently located on US Rt. 2 which has alot of tourist traffic both is the summer and winter. There is a website which showcases some of the area opportunities it's growrumford.com plus you can check any of the local realtors that have MLS listings and choose zip 04276 as your search I'll post a link to one I know of.

Use the MLS listings to get an idea of the area, then travel to the community and look at FSBO homes and expect to pay 50% - 75% of what they want on the MLS listings. |

It is my belief that the art center, while beautiful, was a victim of poor planning. They are currently looking to relocate. They situated themselves in an area only traveled by local residents rather than taking advantage of the year round tourist traffic going through the area.
