Hurricane Sandy is headed our way. Even if it is not still a hurricane when it arrives, this very large storm will hit Maine on Tuesday. It will be bigger than "the perfect storm" of 1992. This is a very dangerous storm and we will have flooding and damage.

Use this time to prepare wisely.

Great! I'm about to head up on saturday or sunday to start my moose hunt which begins on Monday. Ah, a perfect storm...just what I need.....the canoe on top will really catch the wind.

Guess I should have read this post first Kracer ..I wondered if you had been moose hunting and sent you a DM.

I bought 15 gallons of gas for the generator today. Still have to change the oil in it and run it for an hour or so.
With two generators getting ready for a big storm isn't as much of a chore as it used to be when we stored water, ran flashlights and coleman lanterns, flushed with a bucket and took bag showers. Now I just wheel the big generator into place start 'er up and plug in half of the house circuits!

Fox says it's "Frankenstorm, a huge storm without modern precedence."

PORTLAND, Maine — The National Weather Service says Maine and New Hampshire are expected to be spared the brunt of the big storm that’s being dubbed “Frankenstorm” because its arrival will coincide with Halloween.

Article also said earlier reports had it hitting Maine but we still will get winds and rain. Then again, no one can say which way it is going to go for sure. So flip a coin and be ready either way.

It's still far too early to tell for sure. We're definitely going to get some wind and rain. But whether or not we get the full slam of the storm remains to be seen. WCSH's weather guy is betting we'll get wind and rain, but New Jersey will get the full force of the storm.

Not any more... Current track will take it right through Cape May New jersey toward Philly toward Harrisburg, PA. May hit Cape May with 75 mph winds but by the time it gets to Philly the wind will be down to about 45mph. Current track will not extend the storm beyond Connecticut, and certainly not into Maine, with anything much more than a normal N'oreaster deluge.

Could change but this is what its looking like now.
