Default Kennbunk information

Can anyone tell me how often the homes in Kennebunk are assessed for taxes?
Also, how are the doctors, dentists and hospitals(smmc) in that area?We have an elderly relative that will be living with us.
We're planning a move to Kennebunk within the next year and would appreciate any information about the town.
Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
I'm from Kennebunk, haven't lived there in 10 years though. Unless you have a dire need to live in Kennebunk, don't do it. It's full of egotistical, rich snobs and unless you are one also, you won't fit in. The town sucks. Well, it does have a really good school system but it is full of drugs and alcohol. My class entered high school with its own full time police officers because of "our" drug problem. I lived there for 19 years and the only good memory I have of it is the beach!
SMMC is okay but most people go to Maine Med or Mercy for care. They have more available and more experience in all matters. Everything in Kennebunk is overpriced.
My sister still lives there because she likes that snobby atmosphere. She's paying $1800 a month for a tiny 2 bedroom apartment. She can't afford a house in the area.
There are many towns around Kennebunk that don't have the attitude problem that are just as good. Cape Porpoise, Scarborough, Gorham, Alwive, Lyman. Cape Porpoise is a lovely, small, quaint fishing village. It is wonderful! Scarborough and Gorham are more populated but still have the laid back feel. Alwive and Lyman are rural but close to everything.
Hope this helps some.
good luck!
