Here are a few listings for comparison purposes. 23 Breakwater Road, Boothbay Harbor ME - Trulia

12 Pinkham Cove Road, Boothbay Harbor ME - Trulia

27 Bayberry Road, Boothbay Harbor ME - Trulia

I actual looked/went into 27 Bayberry! Too small & cluttered. I also went into this one to below. I got my eye on this one below. We also went into this home. Very nice too!. Both are in Sprucwold development. Real nice area! Thats where I narrowed my vaca home to. Maybe 3 weeks, 3 months, 3 years before I find the right onein that area. No rush.

Thanks again!

We have been here for quite a few years now and, the excise tax is NOT a HUGE deal. I have a new car and he has an older car. My new car has a higher excise tax, but it jumps down quickly each year. When new it was 410.00 in my town for excise AND registration for the year. My husbands was just 103.00 for both. In NJ, we paid about 100 for registration anyway but no excise tax.... HOWEVER.... we saved MORE with the cost difference in car insurance. Our car insurance cut in HALF when we moved here... so that more than made up for the excise tax.

Also... with savings of us paying 5,000.00 per year on property taxes in NJ for a SMALL townhouse... and now we pay 1,400 for a 38 acre lot with a large house on it.... Well... We have never once complained about excise tax....

It is ALL perception from what your used to and what you paid prior to living here.
hi just going through this old post and you say 38 acre lot for 1400??? im so there, i too am from Central Jersey(the eye of the sandy)ugh.. but we were ok thank god,but we are also looking for property in Maine to retire to in a few years,we like rural and lots of land for small farm animals. so that 38 acre lot and $1,400 cought my eye..
