Need to Relocate is on a distinguished road
Default I need to relocate out of state

Hi everyone, I'm new to this board and also fairly new to Maine. I purchased horse property with my fiance earlier this year in the southern part of the state but due to my mother's increasingly worse health issues we decided it would be best to move back to our original state and help take care of her. We are very sad to leave since it was a long term dream to get up here.

We have a realtor but wondering if there's anything more we can do to get the word out of our home for sale? I can't seem to locate many places to advertise our home for sale to hopefully generate some interest.

Anyone sell in the past and have any ideas where I can post our info to find a buyer?

Thanks so much in advance for your help.

Here's a "horse property for sale" site. Maybe this could help you.

Make sure your listing goes up on all possible sites. Zillow.com was twitchy at first and your realtor may not take it seriously but people are looking there.

I am sorry you have to sell. I hope you are able to enjoy being with your mother. It is a hard time of life you and she are entering. Take care of yourself too.

Many thanks for your advice. It is so unexpected. She was here to see our house warming and our horses and pets arrive safely and after she went home her health fell apart abruptly. And now I find out the sibling that said she'd help, can't It's very bittersweet to leave the patch of heaven on earth we found here. Thanks to all the Mainers that have been so kind to us. We have enjoyed our stay so very much.

Would it have been easier to save your home and move mom to you?

It is a shame you have to give up so much. Give it some thought.

When my wife and I moved from Maine to California, my mom wouldn't have been able to stay in her home...she needed care. I insisted she move to Ca with us....we were going...that was a significant life decision we had made.

My mom lived comfortably for four more years in her own condo in our building here in CA before she died. I never regretted the decision, and I am glad we didn't elect to stay in Maine with mom.

Unfortunately I have to sell my house too due to a job relocation for my husband and I know when my best friend was looking to buy one of the first things we looked at was the "real estate book" I made very sure to tell my realtor to list us there. It is in hard print and on line. Also if you are in central to southern maine I think there is an afternoon program on MPBN on Sundays that shown different listings
