This forum is so refreshing!!
As you can tell from my name, I'm a Maine girl...born and bred. I'm currently living in Maryland though, and I mostly post there, in the Baltimore threads. But missing maine a bit, I have been coming here and reading what you all have to say. I just wish the Maryland boards could be this friendly!!! This is what I do miss about Maine. Nearly every post on the Baltimore and Maryland boards have negative people, people bashing the state and the city, people arguing over everything...it's crazy. I just wanted to say that I love coming into this forum every once in a while! It doesn't make my blood pressure rise when I read it! Thank you for that!
and the frugal forum...marvelous!!

Hi Maine Girl--I'm in Philly, but I have friends who lived in Baltimore--they say it's a lot like Philly. Philly forums are all about making money on real estate, what fancy stores they want downtown and the awful homeless and crime problems. Of all the forums I read, I truly enjoy the Maine forum the most--posters are down to earth people who enjoy helping others. I read the Maine forum to remind myself that life is not all strife and competition. I can understand why you would miss Maine. (The Frugal and Photo threads are my favorites.)

Yeah I guess Philly is a bit similar to Baltimore. The people who don't live in Baltimore love to bash the city and tell people not to move there because you'll get shot. It's hard when you live in the city, I know it has it's crime issues, but there are so many great neighborhoods and things going on, that the crime isn't the most important thing. So I def enjoy coming to the Maine forum...it's a breath of fresh air!

I have to agree, the Maine board is a very nice read.
On the other thread sin the other forums I read (South Carolina, North Dakota, Connecticut) it is alot of negativity and such. People tlaking down about certain areas or people.
People here in Maine seem to be very friendly and willing to shar eideas and help others. .which is nice. .and not something I see on the other state forums!
