Hi, can you purchase a home in Calais or near there for around 100,000 dollars? We are in Georgia and absolutely hate it here. The pollen count is off the roof, and we miss snow during the holidays. Could anyone suggest a realtor?. Thanks so much..gussie

Mahan Real Estate

Due East Real Estate

Clark Real Estate

These might be helpful. Pollen is a problem here. When the pine trees are in pollen it's so bad cars turn yellow and a layer of pollen floats on top of water. It's temporary though. We don't have to deal with it year round.

As in you can buy 2 or sometimes 3 for that much. Not there are a few listed under 100K Of course none of them will be on the water for under 100k.

What kind of pollen? Calais does get that nice ocean air that keeps pollen counts down....it can be pretty high here, so it would depend on what kind of pollen aggravates you. Maine Writer posted some links for local realtors.....here's a couple more.....

Machias Maine Real Estate Listing Services in Machias Bay ME
Spinnaker Realty - Eastports Largest Realtor (http://www.spinnakerrealty.com/ - broken link)

Points East listings are not complete for Calais, new ones are being added weekly because they have a new branch (4 months) here in town. Spinnaker is based in Eastport, but on their site if you check "other areas" you will find a couple of Calais listings. Good Luck!

Not to self, re-read post before I can't edit it!! In the first sentence of the above post from me it's supposed to say:

Calais does NOT get that nice ocean air that keeps pollen counts down...

yikes, sorry about that!! But that could be a biggy!

They're auctioning off lots of home in the Calais area starting under 10k.

Sign up for the local newspapers as the realtors mark the houses up pretty high. We bought a FSBO property on the water for 30k
