If you check the stats here on CD, you will see that in many areas "minorities" are, in fact, only a small minority of the population. One usually goes to a church for a reason other than what skin color/racial heritage is possessed by the other people attending. Perhaps it would be better to focus on *that* instead of what "color" the other people are? |

Sanford had two Asian grocers, economy knocked it down to one. There are at least one(5 in Sanford, I think) Asian restaurants in just about any town of size in Southern Me., That means there are Asian families. When I moved here in '83 there were lots of Southeast Asians that had just emigrated. My SIL, now ex-SIL is Phillipino and she found several Phillipino friends almost immediately.

LOL, on one of my house-hunting excursions I was traveling a dirt road through Palermo, heading for Waldoboro, and I passed one house that had a .50 cal machine-gun up-ended in the front yard with a flag on it. The next mailbox had a skull on it, I turned to my wife and said, "Hey, this looks like my kind of place!" |
