We move to Camden next summer (2018). It's our favorite place we've ever visited.

I'm not sure if i posted in this thread, but i've posted in this Forum for many years.

Live in NJ and have been wanting to move to Maine for approximately 35 years... life got in the way...

My house is now for sale, and as soon as it sells, i'll be buying one in Maine. My partner/bf is actually coming with me - which is also a shock. He never wanted to move there but is retiring and doing it. And DOES want to!

Now it's all a waiting game until the house sells. We're looking mostly in coastal Washington County.

Not following a dream, just following the cheap houses.

Been there, done that, except that we bought first and rented the house until we could sell in Mid Atlantic, pay off the mortgage in Maine, and move up. It was a nightmare of stuff to do.

Wow! That's a long time. I'm glad that you can do that. Everyone should get to live in a place they love for at least a little while.

If anyone else is moving to Camden send me a private message; I'll be arriving there with my family next summer. If you need a physician I'll be accepting new patients. Can't wait to get back to small town life.

We are on our way to Maine in a year and a half. Putting our house up for sale this August in San Diego. Buying a trailer to stay in for about 6 month to a year then road tripping it out. We can't wait. I lived in Westbrook for a year when I was in JR High and have wanted to move back ever since. I love Maine. I want the safety for my daughter. I am super anxious to get out of San Diego. It is to crazy here now. I have been here most of my life, but after being in the Navy for 13 years and moving so much in my life, Maine is the place for me.

Welcome hardtostarbord. I need to get a flight physical every 2 years. My Doc "runs barefoot". That means he carries no malpractice insurance. He lives in a rented camp on a lake. He drives an old pickup. He works 3 or 4 days a week and cares for pilots, loggers, guides and farmers. We all love him. Moderator cut: Reference to violence removed. It's a little different in rural Maine.
