No I don't know anything about it but if you go to this site: Farmington, Maine (ME) Detailed Profile - relocation, real estate, travel, jobs, hospitals, schools, crime, news, sex offenders
which is part of this forum it will give you tons of statistics and demographics of the farmington. This includes links to any posts that have been done in this forum in the past. Good Luck--I dont how to get there from here except by using the link above or going to Google and searching.

Hi mr wzrd,
There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of feedback on the western part of the great state of maine in this forum. Is farmington considered part of the western mtn range. My search for farm land started in this part of the state several years ago because we wanted to stay close to great skiing. We have since looked Down East (ruled this out though do to the troubled economy) and are now focusing north west of Bangor. I, however would love to hear your thoughts on Western Mtns. and the economy, properties or anything you might deem worthy of mentioning. Many thanks.

We live in the area where the mountains begin... Start at douglass mt. in sebago[west side of sebago lake,20 min from portland]and shawnee peak ski area bridgton, northern most cumberland co.]from there north, up the spine of the white mnt.of nh. toward bethal me is the western mnts. of maine ...Yes i would consider farmington to be the easterly part of the western mnts area.We love it here.[family been round here for many gens]being within an hours drive of portland ,lewiston or conway nh.One can find anything you need supply wise,or a good job,yet still live in an area that is rural where wildlife thrives. The area is called the lakes region and is a home to many summer camps and visitors from away.As for farming i live almost on the zone line of 4 and 5...It will be raining on one side of the hill and snow on the other.[cool to see].If you looking for homes there are plenty for sale or rent. Also this area on average is the warmest and one of the coldest.something about the prevailing wind over the mt washington area into fryburg harbor, which is noted for some of the best soil in the us,# 2 after penn dutch area out west...rambling now...ask a specific question and i will try to answer.have a nice day.
