Wink Small Maine towns in winter

We are from Louisiana and want to experience a real winter. I would like to know about some small towns in Maine that have a lot of snow. I am interested in a B & B or small efficiency for about a month. Does anyone have any information that they could give me.

Welcome,

"a real winter" LOL, is there a fake one?

The 'small towns in Maine' are the best!

Most of Maine is small towns, so small they are not even incorporated. They [414 of them] are set on the maps, so they are protected and big towns can not engulf them.

"that have a lot of snow" I have no idea. Maybe further North. We live just North of Bangor, though we get very little snow. You may need to try further North, maybe up in "the County", or higher altitude.

Good luck.

We get lots of snow in Dexter: on average about three or four feet. Heading out of Dexter north on Rt. 23 you’ll find Monson gets more snow than us, and further north, Greenville gets even more snow, a lot more. There is a very nice Bed and Breakfast here in town: the Brewster Inn. It’s located on the snow mobile trails that come through town and get quite a bit of traffic in the winter months. The Brewster Inn was at one time the home of Senator Ralph Owen Brewster who was portrayed by Alan Alda in the movie The Aviator.

Maple Lane Farm Bed and Breakfast - Windsor, Maine
A friend of ours owns this B&B in Windsor. I am not sure exactly how much snow they get, but it is definitely more than you get in LA!

Van Buren Maine already has close to a foot of snow! We've been riding snowmobile and plan on having an mild winter with lots of snow this year. You should come on up and experience what we have to offer!

What do you call "little snow"? Of course, for us born and raised in Texas, ANY snow is a lot. Just curious how many inches of snowfall you average in your area.

The beauty of the western mountains is if we have a bad snow year they can make it. Downhill skiing, cross country skiing, tubing and skating can be enjoyed even on artificial snow.

This link will point you to all the amenities you need. Have a wonderful vacation and I'm sure whatever part of the state you choose for your winter experience, it will be fun!
