Sugarloaf, Sunday River, Squaw Mountain, Mt. Abram....Mt Washington Valley and the North Conway area in New Hampshire also have some terrific skiing.

And for an early tune-up there are many small hills such as Mount Jefferson in Lee. Great little lodge at the base with home made french fries from potatos grown right in town.

Way up is also Mars Hill Mountain. Last winter every Wednesday or Thursday (Can't remember which) was a free ski night. Free lift passes and free rentals if you needed them. Can you say packed house!!

don't forget to check across the border too....we're actually closer to some things going in that direction than further into Maine. Here's a link

SkiCentral - New Brunswick Ski Resorts

I've been to Crabbe Mountain and the one in Edmunston

oh, when the kids at the Elementary School here in town go (as a field trip) they usually head to Mars Hill....but in the past some kids from the Eastport school have headed to Crabbe.
