Thought I'd share a tip on torpedo/ready heater. After setting all summer in storage sometimes the heater won't "fire up" on the first cold day you want to use it. This happened to me the first time last year and now again today. What's probably happening is the fan is stuck so heater will not ignite. What I do is take top cover off of heater. This exposes fan. Spin fan with your finger. Most likely fan will not spin easily. I wire brush around fan shaft and spray a little lube (WD40, PB Blaster, etc.) around shaft where it enters motor and spin blade at same time. Pretty soon fan blade spins freely and easily like its supposed to. Put cover back on and fire it up. This happens on a lot of impeller type motors, water pumps, etc.
