So, Woxy, how did you get teleported to the ocean free location of Lebanon, Ohio? Were you bad, or were you the mysterious Eastport serial killer than nobody would turn in?

When my dad retired from the military we wound up here because he needed to be close to the Wright Patterson AFB hospital because he had a bad heart. Several others he served with (in a confidental nuclear weapons unit) also retired here for the same reason. I can't help but think it was part of some government cover-up/conspiracy to have all these men in one place so they could be "monitored."

My gradparents and several great aunts and uncles were in Eastport so we had made several extended trips back when I was growing up. I can remember coming to Eastport for the 4th in 1976, for the bicentennial, upon arriving home the next Quoddy Tides that came in the mail had a pic of Shead High school up in flames.

If you get a chance to see a book called Island City by John "Terry" Holt, there is a pic of my great uncles Kenny and George Malloch on page 26. My grandparents and those two great uncles all lived in these houses on Water St.

If you drive through the cemetary (the new section is to the north and the old to the south) over on the old side, to the right of the gate is a pine tree, to the right of that pine tree is my grandparents headstone, and it can be seen from the road.

Thanks for the amazing photos, woxyroxme!!

I especially love the before and after tide ones

Just might have to pay Eastport a visit after all
You and all the other members with ties or residing there, along with the Sarah Graves book, have piqued my interest

I have other relatives planning to move back when they retire, my uncle George's daughter Pricilla is a teacher in Jefferson City MO, when I heard she was coming back that sealed it for me.

woxy I can't help but notice how pretty the pictures are....without run down buildings and rust buckets on the streets for people to drive around in.....looking at the cars, Jeeps, and trucks, the old buildings, 150 year old houses being renovated, I'm thinking it looks like a pretty little New England town Thanks for posting those, especially since this particular local can't seem to find enough hours in the day to do all that she'd like!

I can remember when the building on the right was Joe's place, I used to get moxie & mackerel **** there as a kid. I think the building on the left may have been owned by mollysmiles family.

Seaside campground taken from Harris Point.
I'm not positive but I think Mollysmiles family business was on the right of the 2 buildings pictured and Joe's Place was on the opposite side of Sullivan street (back lane) not pictured. The campground I believe is named Seaview.

I'm pretty sure the Quonset Hut shaped building is Jim Blankman's wood working shop.
