Their ads say $8 per hour, though. Unfortunately, with milk at $4.89 a gallon and gas and heating oil prices so high, that's not enough to support a family.
I do hope the jobs encourage and benefit some people, however.

I hope they find enough employees to stay open. I haven't looked at their ad. Is it full time with benefits? Wal-Mart started a neighbor at $7.95 and bumped her up to $8.20 a few weeks later when she moved to the registers. She can't get full time or benefits.

I didn't realize milk is that expensive now. I pay that for organic milk. I don't know how anyone manages to heat with oil and be warm anymore. It's -9* here this morning.

What kind of research are they doing? $8/hour doesn't seem commensurate for work I can imagine them doing.

$4.89 a gallon?!? Wow, and I thought I was getting stiffed at $3.89-$4.19 from WalMart, Cumberland Farms, etc. Now I leave a camping icebox in the trunk of my car. When I find a good deal on milk or anything else, I buy in quantity. You can freeze milk too but I understand this works better for skim and lowfat varieties and it might not "keep" as long as it would if you didn't freeze it first. (I'm just using up the last of the holiday eggnog now :-))

Anyway, glad that Calais is getting more jobs.

Edit: just found this answer:
Klassen said the company plans to lease space at the former ICT Group telemarketing center on North Street. Employees will conduct telephone opinion polls, customer satisfaction surveys and social research.

I start working there actually tomorrow and I know that 8.00 doesnt really sound alot but when you havent had a job for a long period of time and only gotten paid by the month anything sounds good to you.Haveing to wait every month for a check really sucks especially when you have children. This way here your getting paid either every 2 weeks or bi weekly...If you really budget your money then you can work for 8.00 an hour
