Oh, garlic rules my kitchen too! I can't wait to try growing it myself.

Tell me about green houses please! I am planning to have one in Maine as well for my orchids...am I crazy? They can tolerate cold, just not freezing. I have about 150 orchids outside now. We get an occasional freeze here - and i have to bring them all in the house (it takes a couple hours ...ugh). I hate to have to leave them behind when we move...but I don't want to bring them up there if they aren't viable. That picture of the green house looked pretty cold!

Orchids? Sure, bring them.

I know a local hippy with a CSA grows Stevia.

And while I do not know personally this other CSA group I have been told that they are doing coffee.

So topical plants are a possibility in Maine.

Beautiful orchids! I'd add a heat supply to the greenhouse and bring the orchids.
