I've got old pictures somewhere of my mother's camp buried up to its eaves in snow. That's par for the "old days". But just a few years ago I went there in February to pick up some stuff, and found an 8' snowbank blocking the drive. Had to literally dig stairs up the bank, then walk carefully along the top crust (thank goodness there WAS some layers of crust!), sometimes breaking through nearly up to my waist, to get to the house; then dig down, down, down to find to the doorway.

Today the snow is up over my knees on the back deck. It really blows and drifts over the fields. In front of the house there's about a foot, I think.

Yoo Hoo!

Now we will make a trip into town to get a replacement spark plug and fuel filter [I do not want to go through this hassle again this win-tah].

My beard was a solid frozen mass of frozen-ness. I came in and got a cup of coffee, but my beard started dripping off chunks of ice and water everywhere, so I had to dive into the jacuzzi to get the ice out of my beard. Really I did not want to go in there, I had to do it
Glad to hear it!

And sure you didn't want to go in the jacuzzi, I believe ya.

Living in Georgia now, I remember as a kid jumpin off the rook tops into the snow banks, tunneling in snow banks.... Can anyone post pictures of the paved roads and snowbanks for this home sick Mainah?
