We can buy DD beans on the shelf at WM here now, but I haven't tried it after having it up there. Maybe we just had a bad couple of cups due to the person who made it, rather than the coffee itself. It tasted bitter to us, and we favor a very bold blend, so I don't think it was too strong for us either.

Maybe I'll grab a bag next time I'm at the store. I browsed the Green Mountain website, and I'll probably order some of that too. We are avid coffee drinkers - I keep a pot on all day and usually have my last cup around 6-7pm. Any later, and I don't sleep well.

Have yet to try Maine Roasters; they have a shop on Rt 1 in Yarmouth, I think. Wanted to stop in but was put off by their logo looking like a cross between Starbucks and Green Mtn logos - like they're trying to copy rather than being an independent company. Sounds a little silly maybe, but that's how it struck me. Guess reactions like mine are why marketing analysis companies exist!

Last time I bought Green Mtn coffee at the market, they had Organic Fair Trade blends.

I do love New England Breakfast blend but it is so expensive now to buy these different brands.
Usually I buy what is on sale at Walmart except Masterblend ( so bitter)
I at Dunkin Donuts where they are on every corner here in MA go fo a regular coffee with cream and sugar.
I won't give starbucks the money! Not worth it.,

That doesn't sound silly to me at all. That would sway me, too.

I try when at all possible to frequent locally owned or little "mom & pop" type businesses...not only because doing so helps the local economy, but also because I have found the most unique, crafty, innovative and quintessentially "Maine" products and goods at these places.
And usually, their appearance and marketing is just as unique

We order our coffee from a tiny little roaster in Michigan . Wife is the coffee drinker, and she likes this roasters product above all others. That is why we "order out" for it in this household.

Does anyone here order green coffee beans and roast their own? A friend of ours used to (perhaps still does; they've moved) order Kona beans through the mail and roast them in an old hot-air corn popper. Unbelievable fresh taste. Best I've ever had.

My wholesalers do drop a pound of something good from time to time in my orders. Jamaican Blue, Kona Gold, Mayorga. Too expensive for everyday consumption. I do enjoy a strong cup with an Habano.

I'm not a big coffee drinker but we live uphill from "Coffee by Design" and it is fun to stick your nose out the window when they are roasting their beans. I've heard people rave about their coffee.
