Default Elementary Schools in Mid-Coast?

Hello, my husband and I are relocating to Maine with our three sons. We are looking in the Freeport/Brunswick area. We are trying to get a sense of the better elementary schools and areas for daycare/before and after school care. We come from a rural town in western massachusetts and like the rural setting. Any experiences or info. with any schools in the area? Looking at Freeport/ Pownal/ Durham/ Brunswick(bigger than we'd like)?

Sorry, I thought you meant the midcoast...Damariscotta,Rockland, Rockport, Camden, Belfast. I'm not familiar with schools in southern Maine.
